The 2023 Sweden National Team line-up has been revealed, featuring a number of prominent rallycross contenders on its high-profile roster.

Swedish drivers won the FIA World Rallycross Championship and FIA European Rallycross Championship (Euro RX1) last year, and both Johan Kristoffersson and Anton Marklund have been selected for Svensk Bilsport (SBF)’s prestigious national squad, alongside 2019 World Rallycross Champion Timmy Hansen and younger brother Kevin Hansen.

“It’s super fun to be part of the national team for another year,” enthused Kristoffersson, the most successful driver of the sport’s modern era with five world championship titles to his name. “I hope we can continue to develop and help each other and really broaden the sport.”

“The national team has been an enormous help for me to get ahead in my career, and continues to be so,” echoed Timmy Hansen. “They offer a lot of help with both physical and mental training, and overall it’s a fantastic initiative by SBF to drive the sport forward.”

In addition to their established counterparts, two rising young stars are similarly part of the programme, in the shape of impressive 2022 World RX rookie Klara Andersson – a member for the fourth consecutive year – and FIA RX2e Championship runner-up, Isak Sjökvist.

“As always, it is inspiring to enter a new competition year,” said National Team captain, Pier Steffansson. “With 16 different disciplines and several sub-classes, there are plenty of good candidates for the national team places, but with the squad we have now, we have high hopes of building upon our recent successes.”
