Isak Sjökvist began his career in karting in 2012, going on to forge a reputation as a leading protagonist on the international stage with Energy Corse and contesting the top-level KZ2 gearbox class as one of the Italian outfit’s few factory drivers.
The Swede made the step up to cars in 2021 by entering RallyX Nordic’s Supercar Lites category, quickly finding his feet and reaching the semi-finals in only his second start in the ultra-competitive series at Nysum in Denmark.
Sjökvist then enjoyed a breakthrough weekend at OuluZone in Finland, belying his comparative lack of experience to advance to the final during both rounds of the double-header event as he converted his eye-catching pace into a pair of fourth-place finishes. He made his FIA RX2e Championship debut at Höljes the same year, achieving a 100 per cent record of progressing through to the final as rostrum results on home soil in Sweden and then again in Belgium propelled him to fifth in the overall standings.
