Teješ targeting top three finishes as Czech star commits to full campaign
)
Libor Teješ is eager to build upon the promise he showed and the experience he accrued in the FIA European Rallycross Championship last year, after confirming his intention to contest a full season in the fiercely-disputed Euro RX3 category in 2026.
A multiple domestic champion in both rallycross and autocross, the Czech star dipped his toe into the water at international level in 2024, contesting the Euro RX outings at Nyirád in Hungary and Mettet in Belgium – impressively advancing to the final in the latter of those appearances.
Teješ maintained that upward momentum last season, overcoming issues with power loss after race starts to finish fifth at both Lousada and Höljes, sixth at Nyirád and fourth at Finland’s KymiRing, where he fell short of reaching the rostrum by less than a quarter-of-a-second.

Alongside eventual championship runner-up Rytis Gurklys, the Biba Racing ace was the only Euro RX3 driver to progress to the final in each of the opening four rounds, leaving him fifth in the standings ahead of the Istanbul Park finale, but a decision to skip the Turkish title-decider in favour of saving budget for 2026 dropped him to eighth in the overall classification.
Teješ invested that money wisely to build a new engine and carry out upgrades and improvements to his Audi A1 – which he now hopes to pilot to regular podium finishes over the course of the forthcoming campaign.
“Our plan is clear – to participate in all European Championship rounds,” revealed the 22-year-old Prague native. “Euro RX has been a series that my team and I have admired for a long time. Last year was a dream come true for me, and I picked up a lot of valuable experience that I now want to put to good use.

“Rallycross is a sport where you’re constantly fighting and exchanging positions, and to get results, you need everything to completely ‘click’. We weren’t quite there last year in terms of the engine and chassis, and I was probably a bit too cautious and not ‘sending’ the car as much as I should have done, but I was still able to keep up with experienced, quick drivers and the podium was very close.
“That really inspired me to come back, and is why I have decided to continue in the European Championship to further develop my racing skills. The FIA has added some more legendary race tracks to the schedule for 2026 in Latvia, France and Ireland. I’m most looking forward to Rīga and there’s always a great atmosphere at Lohéac, which as a circuit has great variety. It’s a fantastic calendar this year!
“My goals are clear. We’ve been working on the Audi over the winter, and we believe it will be a step forward compared to last year. I’m already looking forward to getting back on the grid, and I really want to enjoy the season and have a lot of fun. I feel very motivated to keep improving so that we can fight for the top positions. With this team, I’m confident we have what it takes!”
The 2026 FIA European Rallycross Championship campaign will get underway at Rīga’s Biķernieku trase in Latvia on 9-10 May, followed by rounds at Nyirád in Hungary (30-31 May), Höljes in Sweden (4-5 July), Mondello Park in Ireland (18-19 July) and Lohéac in France (29-30 August), prior to concluding at Lousada in Portugal on 12-13 September.
