The FIA World Rallycross Championship’s Official Construction Equipment Supplier and Track Building Partner Volvo Construction Equipment showcased the series stateside last week, bringing electrifying motorsport fever to a large and receptive new audience.
Both Volvo CE and the Construction Equipment Dealer Team joined World RX in 2022, with Niclas Grönholm – who triumphed at Montalegre on the way to matching his career-best finish of third in the standings – and mechanic Anna Palander representing the Swedish outfit at Las Vegas’ CONEXPO-CON/AGG show.
In keeping with the city’s reputation as a global entertainment capital, the immersive and interactive 55,000-square-foot stand featured the all-electric, 500kW (680bhp) CE Dealer Team race car alongside Volvo CE’s range of cutting-edge excavators – some of which attendees were able to test-drive to try out their skills – as the company continues to lead the construction industry towards a more sustainable future under the tagline ‘Change Starts Here: Be Ready For It’.
“Change can create challenges, but it also creates opportunities,” said Volvo CE President, Melker Jernberg of a range of products in Vegas including zero-emission electric machines, charging solutions and an articulated hauler made using fossil-free steel. “The transition the world is undergoing has made clear the need for more sustainable solutions and strengthened our commitment to leading this transformation together with our customers and other partners.”
The same is very much true of Volvo CE’s ground-breaking partnership with World RX, which enters its second year in 2023 and has more exciting developments in the pipeline. Watch this space!
