Lukas Ney is excited to make his international debut in the FIA European Rallycross Championship in Barcelona next month (23/24 July), as he joins the burgeoning RX3 fold for the full 2021 campaign.
Ney began competing in rallycross in the German Championship in 2004 in a Citroën AX, going on to achieve multiple race wins in the domestic series with a Citroën Xsara VTS.
Now, the 34-year-old German is ready to take the next step by testing his mettle in Euro RX’s popular RX3 class behind the wheel of a Škoda Fabia.
“I’m really looking forward to the first event in Spain,” Ney enthused. “For me and my team, it is a big jump from the German Championship to European level, and my goal for this season is to gain as much experience as possible and learn a lot. The competition in RX3 is going to be really high, so I hope I can make it into the semi-finals sometimes.”
