With a mechanic for a father, Viktor Vranckx attended his first rallycross event when he was only a few months old – and it would rapidly stoke his enthusiasm for the dual-surface discipline.
After turning 13, Vranckx got behind the wheel himself, eschewing the traditional entry route of karting in favour of autocross and subsequently CrossCar competition. Success was swift.
In 2019 and 2020, he sped to junior titles in his native Belgium and Italy, before graduating to senior level in 2021, placing fourth in the Belgian CrossCar Championship, fifth in the FIA XC Academy Trophy and scooping the runner-up spoils in Italy’s Under-18 series.
Vranckx stepped up again to RX2e in 2022, at the age of 16. Coached by inaugural champion Guillaume De Ridder, he won the opening two events of the season on his way to the coveted Drivers’ crown.
