Patrick O’Donovan made his rallycross debut in 2018 – aged just 14 – racing a single-make 1300cc Suzuki Swift in the Motorsport UK Junior Rallycross Championship. In only his second season in the category, he was a title contender in 2019 and went on to finish runner-up in the standings.
Midway through 2020, O’Donovan graduated to the single-make RX150 Rallycross Championship for RX150 buggies within the British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy. He went unbeaten in his first four starts and led the 2021 standings prior to the beginning of the inaugural RX2e campaign.
The Motorsport UK Academy member, who was born in London and races under a British licence but holds an Irish passport, is the son of former British Rallycross Champion and Euro RX Supercar podium-finisher Ollie O’Donovan.
