After beginning his competitive career in rallycross at the age of 19, Stefan Kristensson spent four seasons in the dual-surface discipline before taking a prolonged break from the sport.
He returned to action in 2019, this time in rallying. He entered four Swedish Championship events in a Volvo 242 in 2020 – finishing second in-class on three occasions – before upgrading to a Ford Fiesta RS WRC the following year, yielding a trio of 4WD asphalt victories and the coveted crown.
Kristensson similarly took the SuperNational class title in the Danish Rallycross Championship in 2021 in a Ford Escort, while placing seventh overall at the end of a partial campaign in RallyX Nordic’s Open 2WD category – reaching the rostrum in the Nysum curtain-raiser. He made his World RX debut at the Nürburgring later that same season.
