After racing karts from the age of ten, Martin Kjær graduated to rallycross in a Super1600 Honda Civic, since when he has competed sporadically in the discipline – lifting the Norwegian Championship title in 2018 behind the wheel of an Opel Corsa.
The Norwegian scooped the runner-up spoils in the domestic hillclimbing series a year later, and joined the FIA European Rallycross Championship’s Euro RX3 category at Höljes in 2021, advancing to the semi-final stage on his debut.
He returned the following season, turning heads by topping the order on the opening day at the legendary ‘Magic Weekend’, but retirement from the lead of his Progression race saw his challenge come unstuck. Kjær bounced back at the Nürburgring at the end of the campaign by reaching the Euro RX3 final for the first time, going on to take the chequered flag fourth.
