2007 British Rallycross Champion Ollie O’Donovan made his FIA World Rallycross Championship debut at Lydden Hill in 2014, returning for the season finale in Argentina, where he reached the semi-finals. He continued to race sporadically over the following years behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta, while simultaneously contesting the FIA European Rallycross Championship.

Participating in Euro RX’s headlining Supercar (now Euro RX1) class, O’Donovan progressed through to the final in Norway and Spain in his maiden campaign in 2015 en route to eighth position in the overall standings, before adding a first podium finish to his tally in Barcelona in 2017. Following a three-year absence from the World Championship stage, the Irishman rejoined the fray at Lohéac in 2021, racing on the same bill as his son, Patrick O’Donovan.

He subsequently entered the opening two rounds of the Euro RX1 season with the new-to-rallycross Proton Iriz in 2022, scoring points on both occasions.
