Triple British Rallycross Champion and reigning FIA European Rallycross Champion Patrick O’Donovan (Team RX Racing Peugeot 208 WRX) sensationally reached the rostrum on his World Championship debut in Hong Kong 12 months ago, and the 20-year-old is looking to repeat the feat in Istanbul.
Meanwhile, PGRX is fielding a pair of Hyundai i20s for World RX newcomer Steven Bossard – who defied expectations to lift the laurels in the French Rallycross Championship this year following a decade-long absence from the grid – and Juha Rytkönen, who chased his team-mate home for the runner-up spoils in the standings.
Indeed, the flying Finn could just be the dark horse in the field, having stunned with a second-place finish on home soil at Kouvola back in 2020 – his maiden appearance at international rallycross’ highest level. Amongst the drivers he beat that day were both Hansen brothers and Grönholm...
