Announced today (Thursday, 18 September) in Finland’s capital Helsinki at a media event attended by World RX regular Niclas Grönholm, the return marks the first occasion World RX will take place in the Nordic country since 2020.
Located close to the city of Kouvola, 150km north-east of Helsinki, Kymiring will be used in the world championship for the first time as part of an ambitious project spearheaded by TRP Hungary in alignment with the Finnish ASN, AKK.
The agreement puts Kymiring on the World RX calendar for at least the next three seasons, giving Finnish fans a first-hand experience of the thrilling Battle of Technologies.

FIA World Rallycross set for 2025 Finnish return
The FIA World Rallycross Championship will return to Finland in 2025, with Kymiring securing a long-term agreement to host the Finnish round*.
Kymiring CEO Kornél Őry said of the announcement: “Our vision is to develop and operate the leading sports and entertainment centre in the Nordic and the Baltic region, with the FIA World Rallycross Championship playing a major role.
“Sustainability and environmental responsibility are of paramount importance to us, and the inclusion of World RX carries symbolic significance in this regard.”
The announcement was enthusiastically welcomed by Arne Dirks, Managing Director of Rallycross Promoter GmbH. He said: “Finland has a world-renowned motorsport culture and a proud history in our sport specifically, adding more significance to us returning there for the first time since 2020.
“Just as importantly, we are going there with a partner we know well and have full confidence in delivering a spectacular new addition to the calendar.”
Finland has a strong history in rallycross, the country having produced a number of FIA European Champions and with Grönholm a leading contender in the FIA World Rallycross Championship in recent years.
