RX2e champion joins compatriots in Sweden National Team

Hot on the heels of arguably the most impressive season of his career to-date, Nils Andersson has added another feather to his cap after being selected for inclusion in the Sweden National Team.

Hot on the heels of arguably the most impressive season of his career to-date, reigning FIA RX2e Champion Nils Andersson has added another feather to his cap after being selected for inclusion in the Sweden National Team.

Already two times a CrossCar champion in RallyX Nordic and a domestic champion in Supercar Lites, 24-year-old Andersson sprinted to glory in RX2e last year, producing a combination of pace and consistency that none of his adversaries was able to match.

The Team E ace is aiming to defend his title in 2024, as he continues to strive for a seat at the highest table in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. In that quest, he can now call upon the guidance and support of the Svenska Bilsportförbundet-run Sweden National Team, which brings together the top 50 Swedish motorsport talents competing across all disciplines on the international stage.

“It’s a huge honour to be picked to represent Sweden’s National Team and a career highlight for sure,” Andersson enthused. “To be associated with so many amazing drivers is something I’m very proud of, and I hope it will boost my discussions with potential partners.

“This is a great opportunity for me to learn and develop even more, and I’m excited to interact and share my experiences with the other drivers on the programme – not to mention the access that this affords me to SBF’s impressive facilities. I’m looking forward to a great season together!”

The Arvika native is joined on the scheme by six-time FIA World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristoffersson, fellow World RX front-runners Timmy Hansen, Kevin Hansen and Klara Andersson as well as his 2023 RX2e title rivals Isak Sjökvist and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky.

“For the seventh consecutive year, I’m glad to be a part of the Sweden National Team,” noted #YellowSquad star Sjökvist, who is bidding to steal Andersson’s crown in 2024. “It’s an honour to carry the Swedish flag around the globe, and I’ll do my very best to achieve as much success as possible!”
