Given his pedigree in the sport and his previous achievements, it seems hard to believe that Timo Scheider went into the 2023 FIA World Rallycross Championship campaign still looking for his first win in the series. During the course of a landmark season, the German put that statistic to bed in fine fashion.

With low expectations in the knowledge that ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport’s SEAT Ibiza RX1e was overweight in relation to its rivals, Scheider was off the pace in the Montalegre curtain-raiser, but surprised himself by reaching the rostrum in round two in Hell and advancing to the final again at Höljes.

As one of only two drivers on the grid to have never previously piloted the ZEROID X1, many predicted that the 45-year-old would struggle following the mid-season car switch – but nothing could have been further from the truth.

On the podium on the first day in Cape Town, Scheider then brilliantly outperformed Kevin Hansen and Johan Kristoffersson to triumph 24 hours later, before adding another top three finish to his tally in Hong Kong to cement a career-high fourth position in the championship standings.
