Reigning French Rallycross Championship-winning outfit PGRX is eyeing up a three-car entry into the FIA European Rallycross Championship’s top tier in 2024.
Behind the wheel of the same Hyundai i20 that Anton Marklund piloted to Euro RX1 title glory in 2022, Davy Jeanney – the only French driver other than Sébastien Loeb to have won a round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship – sped to a second career crown in the domestic series’ headlining Supercar category this year, adding to his 2010 triumph.
The 36-year-old tallied four victories and two further podium finishes from eight outings, winning ten of the 30 qualifying heats and setting 15 fastest race laps as he scooped 243 out of a possible 288 points. He was joined at Lohéac by nine-time FIA World Rally Champion Loeb, who spearheaded a PGRX one-two finish at the Breton circuit.
Buoyed by those stellar results and having since acquired a third i20 – the Hedströms Motorsport car that Oliver Solberg raced at Höljes last year – the team is now evaluating a return to the international stage.
