The FIA World Rallycross Championship is pleased to have entered
into a partnership with the Kuehne+Nagel Group – one of the world's leading
logistics providers – to oversee the smooth and successful transportation of
its cars and equipment to long-distance events.
With more than 80,000 employees in over 100 countries worldwide,
Kuehne+Nagel is a prominent and well-respected name in the industry. The
company specialises in sea logistics, air logistics, road logistics and
contract logistics, with a clear focus on integrated solutions.
Its Expo and Event team has been kept busy in recent weeks managing
the transportation of cars and equipment from Europe to South Africa and now to
Hong Kong, for World RX’s forthcoming debut in the Asia-Pacific region next
weekend (11-12 November).
“We are honoured to handle the logistics for World RX, so that
the organisers and athletes can fully focus on the racing and the finale in
Hong Kong,” said Julian Blackman, Kuehne+Nagel’s Expo and
Event Logistics Manager who leads the project alongside Dominik Frank.
Much like the frenetic action on-track, getting to the circuit
in the first place can be a race against the clock, but with Kuehne+Nagel’s expansive
global footprint, experience in freight forwarding and customs clearance and
expertise in automotive and ‘new mobility’ sectors, planning the logistics for
major international events like those in World RX is in its DNA.
“Moving batteries across borders comes with heightened
awareness, careful handling and additional administration. This can be
challenging in an events logistics context where timelines can be short, but by
combining our expertise and leveraging our global network, we make it work,”
explained Joern Schneeman, Kuehne+Nagel Global Head of Expo and
Event Logistics.
“As World
RX ventures into new territories, having a trusted and proven logistics partner
is integral to our global strategy,” added Arne Dirks, Managing Director of
Rallycross Promoter GmbH. “Kuehne+Nagel understands and shares our vision and
is committed to delivering our equipment around the globe in a sustainably
responsible framework. We look forward to growing and developing our
relationship going forward.”
