Rallycross Promoter and WRC Promoter awarded FIA 3* Environmental Accreditation

Rallycross Promoter has seen its drive for sustainability officially recognised with the bestowal of FIA 3* Environmental Accreditation.

Rallycross Promoter – together with sister company, WRC Promoter – has seen its drive for sustainability officially recognised with the bestowal of 3* Environmental Accreditation from international motorsport’s governing body, the FIA.

Aimed at helping motorsport and mobility stakeholders worldwide to measure and enhance their environmental performance, the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme is an environmental management certification system consisting of a three-level framework, of which the Promoters have achieved the highest level.

The acknowledgment from the FIA came following an on-site audit of the Promoters’ Munich offices by an independent, FIA-appointed auditor with International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) experience.

The auditor evaluated the solidity and implementation of the Promoters’ environmental management system to address environmental management principles and key impact areas. The audit results highlighted best practices in the field of communication and the development of Beyond Rally as an umbrella platform for sustainability initiatives and biodiversity.

This is just the latest step on Rallycross and WRC Promoters’ journey towards a more sustainable future, adhering to the same environmental benchmark to which the two companies push their stakeholders to aspire.

Last month, it was confirmed that Montalegre and Höljes had become the first rallycross circuits in the world to attain FIA3* Environmental Accreditation, with other World RX venues striving to reach the same goal.

In the meantime, both Promoters continue to work closely with their stakeholders to create more sustainable events. To assist with this, the Promoters have introduced a Carbon Footprint Tool aimed at assisting local organisers to measure their carbon impact, as well as offering a sustainability support package containing relevant guidelines and templates.
