Pablo Suárez is excited to test his mettle against the finest drivers in the sport at Mettet this weekend (5-6 August), as the Spaniard prepares to take on a quartet of FIA World Rallycross Championship superstars in the penultimate outing of the 2023 FIA RX2e Championship campaign.

Now in his third full season in the single-spec World RX feeder series, Suárez is continuing to improve with every appearance, with a brace of fourth-place finishes to his credit so far this year leaving him fifth in the title table – just 12 points adrift of the summit of the standings.

In addition to his regular rivals, the Gran Canaria native will also be facing four high-profile ‘guest’ entries in Belgium, as world champions Johan Kristoffersson and Timmy Hansen as well as their respective World RX team-mates, Ole Christian Veiby and Kevin Hansen, join the grid for the first time in RX2e.

“We arrive fully charged at Mettet – another completely new circuit for us, which we will have to discover and adapt to as quickly as possible,” reflected Suárez, who reached the rostrum on Belgian soil at Spa-Francorchamps in 2022.

“It will be incredible to share the weekend with the World Championship drivers. It will be a big challenge, but at the same time a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to measure myself against some of the greatest drivers in the history of World RX.

“My objective is to continue achieving good results and fighting for as many points as possible towards the overall classification. That is an enormous motivation for me, as is the desire to reward my sponsors, who have maintained their trust in me throughout this exciting season.”
