Dressed for success

As the 2023 FIA World Rallycross Championship races into life at Montalegre in Portugal this weekend (3-4 June), Rallycross Promoter is delighted to unveil a new partnership with Swedish clothing company Båstadgruppen to kit out the series’ commentators and reporters.

The history of Båstadgruppen stretches all the way back to 1907, when August Johansson began making wooden clogs at his farm in Bjäre. That was the beginning of the Toffelfabriken clog factory in Troentorp and the ‘Båstad clog’, which ultimately became Båstadgruppen.

Over a century on, Båstadgruppen – placing a strong focus on innovation, durability and setting the industry pace, much like World RX – is now one of the Nordic region’s leading suppliers of workwear, footwear and gloves. Fittingly for a partnership with a championship in which the drivers and cars display lightning-quick reaction times, it is accustomed to responding swiftly to ever-changing market requirements.

The company is also no stranger to the rallycross paddock, courtesy of its pre-existing relationship with defending world championship-winning outfit Volkswagen Dealerteam BAUHAUS.

The official World RX broadcast team is now similarly equipped with clothing supplied by two of Båstadgruppen’s sub-brands – South West and Matterhorn – enabling the RX+ presenters to look the part in stylish, sporty and sustainable garments whatever the weather.
