Multiple Norwegian Champion returns to RX2e

Ole Henry Steinsholt – a multiple Norwegian and North European title-holder in Crosskart and rallycross competition – has announced his return to the World RX-supporting FIA RX2e Championship in 2023.

Ole Henry Steinsholt – a multiple Norwegian and North European title-holder in Crosskart and rallycross competition – has announced his return to the World RX-supporting FIA RX2e Championship in 2023.

The Larvik native is no stranger to the all-electric single-spec series, having made his debut in RX2e during the championship’s inaugural event in Catalunya in 2021, finishing second to eventual champion Guillaume De Ridder.

Just over two years on, Steinsholt is back for more, and he will line up on the starting grid for the season curtain-raiser on home soil in Hell on 17-18 June alongside 2022 front-runner Nils Andersson as well as a host of yet-to-be-revealed rivals.

“I’m thrilled to be joining RX2e for season three,” enthused the 20-year-old rising star. “I had a fantastic experience racing in the series’ first season, and I can’t wait to get back out there and compete against some of the best drivers in the world!”

Javier Alonso, Motorsport Director of QEV Technologies – the electro-mobility specialist behind RX2e – believes Steinsholt will be a leading protagonist for glory over the coming months.

“We are delighted to welcome Ole Henry back to RX2e,” acknowledged the Spaniard. “He is an incredibly talented driver who has proven his ability to compete at a higher level of rallycross. We are confident that he will be a strong contender for the championship this season, and we can’t wait to see him in action on the track.”

In 2023, RX2e becomes a team-based championship for the first time, with private outfits able to buy or lease cars and adapt the bodywork. Performance will increase from 250kW to 270kW, with a new ‘boost’ generating an extra 80kW of power – up to a maximum of 350kW – for a limited period during each race.
