JC Raceteknik will field a brace of Audi S1 Supercars for Norwegian duo Sondre Evjen and Ole Christian Veiby in the FIA European Rallycross Championship’s headlining Euro RX1 class at Höljes next month (2-3 July) – with both men setting their sights solidly on the podium.

Helmed by Joel Christoffersson, JC Raceteknik has been a staple of the international rallycross scene for a number of years, and in Evjen and Veiby, the Swedish squad has two experienced and assured front-runners in its line-up for the eagerly-anticipated ‘Magic Weekend’.

Evjen was a leading light in the World Championship-supporting RX Lites and RX2 Series from 2016 to 2018, going on to reach the final on his debut in Euro RX’s Supercar (now Euro RX1) category at the end of the last of those seasons with a fine fifth-place finish in Rīga.

A full European campaign followed in 2019 – yielding seventh spot in the overall standings – with a maiden rostrum result the next year propelling the Norwegian to third in the standings. He has simultaneously shone in RallyX Nordic.

“I’m really looking forward to competing in Euro RX again and am curious to see what the new format is like,” Evjen remarked. “Höljes is always incredible to drive, and we will look to bring the same speed that we had there in RallyX Nordic earlier this year. Being on the podium is the main target, and a win is within reach if we can put everything together for the whole weekend.”

Compatriot Veiby is similarly no stranger to Euro RX competition, triumphing in Barcelona in his sophomore season at Supercar level in 2015 – aged just 19 – and additionally reaching the rostrum at Mettet and Franciacorta on his way to third in the title table that year.

The Kongsvinger native also has a brace of World RX semi-final appearances on his CV, as well as multiple WRC2 podium finishes – including two victories – and four top ten results in the FIA World Rally Championship’s top flight. But now, his focus is firmly on more rallycross silverware.

“It will be a lot of fun to go back to Höljes again for the European Championship,” enthused the 25-year-old. “I hope many people will come to make it a big party! It’s a track I know well, and I think we can have good pace. We raced there a few weeks ago in RallyX Nordic and it felt really good, so we go to Höljes feeling well-prepared. The goal is to get onto the podium. That would be fantastic, so that’s what we’re aiming for.”
