The 2025 FIA World Rallycross Championship kicked off in spectacular fashion on Thursday evening, as the vibrant town of Lousada, Portugal played host to an unforgettable season launch event that drew thousands of passionate fans into its historic centre.

Lousada, long regarded as the home of Rallycross, came alive with the sights and sounds of top-tier rallycross machinery. Crowds packed the cobbled streets from early in the evening, eager to get a glimpse of their favourite World RX stars and the championship’s cutting-edge cars.

The launch event saw 19 Euro RX3 cars, 9 Euro RX1 entries, and 9 World RX supercars rolling through the town centre to the cheers of the crowd, before crossing the ceremonial start ramp. Fans of all ages took the opportunity to meet the drivers, collect autographs, and snap photos in an up-close experience rarely seen in other global motorsport events.

CE Dealer Team driver Klara Andersson was blown away by the reception stating: “It was incredible to see so many fans come out in force for the event last night. We were surrounded from the moment we arrived, people asking for autographs, wanting to talk to us, it was really, really special.”

Hansen driver Kevin Hansen, added, “The launch event truly brought back memories of Rallycross at its peak! It was easily one of the best events we've had since 2020. The atmosphere was electric — fans were out in full force, lining up for autographs and selfies. You could genuinely feel their passion, not just for the sport, but for the Hansen family. It was absolutely fantastic."

The event marked not only the official start of the 2025 World RX season but also a celebration of the sport’s growing popularity. With a packed grid, exciting new rivalries, and direct investment from the FIA anticipation is high for a landmark year in the championship’s history.
