Trepák commits to full season in Euro RX1 as part of ‘long-term’ plan
)
Buoyed by his sensational Euro RX1 debut on home soil at Nyirád last summer, Andor Trepák has confirmed he will contest a full season in the FIA European Rallycross Championship’s top-tier this year – and that, the Hungarian says, is just the start...
Twelve months on from an impressive maiden appearance on the international stage in the Euro RX3 division, Trepák returned to the fray at the legendary ‘Red Cauldron’ to test his mettle one rung higher up the ladder in Euro RX1.
Piloting a Prodrive-developed, ex-GCK Motorsport Renault Mégane RS RX, he immediately turned heads by topping the timesheets in Q1, when the only person in the whole paddock quicker than the rising star was multiple world champion, Johan Kristoffersson.
Notwithstanding the esteemed opposition, the Újszilvás native continued to shine in the high-calibre Euro RX1 field, going on to secure third position in the intermediate classification behind title-chasing duo Mika Liimatainen and Damian Litwinowicz.

Despite not reaching the final due to a clash with eventual champion Yury Belevskiy at the beginning of the pair’s semi-final, his stellar display indubitably marked Trepák out as one to watch – and he has since further enhanced his burgeoning reputation in the dual-surface discipline by clinching the coveted Supercar class crown on the domestic scene.
His dominant campaign as a Supercar rookie completed a hat-trick of three national titles in as many years – a progression that he acknowledges has been ‘fairytale-like’. For a driver who only began racing back in 2023, the 20-year-old’s ascendancy has been swift, but as he outlines his short and longer-term ambitions, it is evident that he has absolutely no intention of easing off the gas.
“The future is becoming clearer and clearer, and I’m delighted to announce I’ll be heading into my first full European Championship season!” enthused Trepák, describing it as the next item on his ‘bucket list’ and revealing that he is training hard both physically and mentally for the challenge that awaits, while his family-run TRX Motorsport outfit readies the Mégane for battle ‘with pinpoint accuracy’.

“It’s no secret that my career up to now has been financed entirely by our family business, but with my past results and the promise of much more moving forward, we’d love to earn the trust of a few partners to support me on this journey.
“Winning the Hungarian Supercar title in my first season in the category gave me a huge boost and even more motivation to keep improving. The next step is clearly Euro RX1 – the top level of rallycross – and we’ve been preparing the car with a razor-sharp focus since last autumn, because we want to make a big impact when we join the grid in Rīga in May. The competition will be brutal, but based on the momentum I’ve built so far, I believe we’ll be able to hold our own.
“We’re planning for the long-term with the team. In 2026, the goal is to settle in and find our rhythm; in 2027, we want to maximise both the technical package and my driving performance; and then in 2028, the target is to step up to the World Championship, where we definitely won’t be holding back!”
