Teenage talent Dvořák eyeing step-up to Euro RX3

Rising Czech rallycross star Jan Dvořák has announced his intention to join the Euro RX3 grid for the first time this season, with the karting graduate preparing to head into battle behind the wheel of an Audi A1 – the undisputed benchmark car in the category.

The son of former Central European Zone STC1600 champion Radek Dvořák, the teenage talent debuted in the dual-surface discipline himself just three years ago at the age of 14, piloting a Renault Twingo in the domestic series’ National 1600 division. Underscoring his potential, in his sophomore campaign, he clinched the coveted crown.

Last season, Dvořák made sporadic rallycross appearances while focusing predominantly on further honing his racecraft and skills in the KZ2 class of the Czech Karting Championship.

In 2026, however, the 17-year-old Růžová native is gearing up to take the next step in his burgeoning career – by testing his mettle in the FIA European Rallycross Championship’s second-tier with an Audi A1, newly-built by reigning Czech Super1600 champion Jan Ratajský’s ABmotorsport outfit.

“It will be a new experience for me and the whole team,” Dvořák told rallycross.cz. “Even though I have not yet competed in many races in the Super1600 division, I have driven my dad’s old Škoda Fabia at Nyirád and done a lot of tests in that car. Everything is still in the preparation phase, and as soon as the weather permits, we will conduct our first running with the Audi. I want to be as well-prepared as possible.

“We expect that with the inclusion of Lohéac on the calendar, several French drivers will also join and there will certainly be more competition than in previous seasons. Our results will obviously depend upon many circumstances – not least how the car performs – but my aim is to make it into the final in as many rounds as possible.”

Following the curtain-raising contest in Latvia on 9-10 May, competitors will do battle at Nyirád in Hungary (30-31 May), Höljes in Sweden (4-5 July), Mondello Park in Ireland (18-19 July), Lohéac in France (29-30 August) and finally Lousada in Portugal, where champions will be crowned on 12-13 September.
