The third round of the 2025 FIA World Rallycross Championship is about to get underway (19-20 July) in Nyirád, Hungary, as the Hansen World RX Team looks to continue its 2025 podium streak.

Timmy Hansen has collected two podiums from as many races this season, with third place on home soil in Höljes, Sweden, and second place at the opening round in Lousada, Portugal.

Sitting third in the championship standings, Timmy sits just 12 points adrift of Niclas Grönholm at the top of the leaderboard, and only 6 points behind Johan Kristoffersson in second.

It was a difficult 'Magic Weekend' in Höljes for Kevin Hansen, who finds himself hot on the heels of OC Veiby from fifth in the standings. A battery issue put the Swede out of Q2, and a second red light meant a DNF in the Final, despite hard work from the team to replace the battery Saturday night.

The Swedish squad is now making final preparations to take on the 'Red Cauldron', a nickname derived from the distinctive dirt of the circuit. Both Kevin and Timmy have experience of this track, claiming victory in other championship events. This combined with a test of the Peugeot 208 RX1e cars here last year puts the Hansen outfit in a strong position heading into the weekend.

Kenneth Hansen, Team Principal at Hansen World RX Team, said: "We are here in Hungary for the next round of the World RX season and it feels great to be back. We were unlucky at last year's double-header to leave without a podium, but we tested at this track right after that event and unlocked some performance in the car so we're excited to see how we do this time. The team is feeling strong after our last podium in Sweden. It was a tricky weekend both with the bad weather and the issues with Kevin's car, so we are ready to take on whatever Nyirád throws at us."

Kevin Hansen, Hansen World RX Team driver, said: "It's great to be back in Hungary, we love coming here and have had some good success on this track. We had a really great time at the downtown activation last night. The fans are so passionate here and there is going to be some really great energy over the race weekend. I'm going to be channelling that after a difficult first two rounds of the season, but I'm confident that myself and the car have what it takes to be on the podium on Sunday."

Timmy Hansen, Hansen World RX Team driver, said: "I'm really looking forward to this weekend in Hungary. It feels like we're starting to build some good momentum this season with a couple of podiums for myself from the first two rounds. This circuit has always been a good challenge, and in the narrow sections it's a fine line between gaining an extra tenth and ending up in the wall. I'm sitting third in the standings but it's such a close competition this year that anything can happen!"
