The upcoming World RX of Finland marks a landmark moment for the championship. Not only does the brand-new KymiRing make its highly anticipated debut on the World RX calendar, the event will also see three rising stars join the Euro RX1 grid - giving fans a glimpse of the next generation of rallycross talent.

With a fresh layout promising unpredictability and high drama for both drivers and fans, the stage is set for these young contenders to make their mark on the topflight of European Rallycross.

Local hero Joni Turpeinen is already a well-known name among rallycross followers. At just 15, he won his first title in the Supercar car class, an achievement that placed him firmly in the spotlight. In 2025 Turpeinen made his Euro RX1 debut at the World RX of Sweden, lining up against a vastly experienced field. In difficult conditions, he produced a remarkable drive, guiding his Ford Fiesta to a podium finish on his very first outing in the category. Returning for the World RX of Finland, and with the fast, flowing nature of KymiRing expected to suit his aggressive and confident style, the young Finn will be one of the most exciting drivers to watch this weekend.

Another young talent joining the Euro RX1 grid is Kouvola native Anton Seppä. The 19-year-old is a graduate of the prestigious Flying Finn Academy- a national talent programme that has produced several major Finnish motorsport talents, including Esapekka Lappi and Sami Pajari - and has been turning heads across the national scene. Last season, he took the V1600 class title in the Finnish Rallycross Championship, a performance that earned him a place with Škoda Motorsport Finland and a step up to the Supercar class. Since then, Seppä has impressed with a run of strong results, quickly making a name for himself in the Finnish rallycross ranks. Now preparing for his European Rallycross Championship debut, the Finn will be eager to demonstrate his potential on home soil in front of a passionate local crowd.

Completing the rookie trio is 19-year-old Estonian Maiko Tamm. Hailing from Tõrva, Tamm is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young prospects in Baltic motorsport. A member of Team Estonia Autosport, he won back-to-back Supercar titles in the Estonian Rallycross Championship in 2022 and 2023, before making his debut overseas in 2023. His impact was immediate, taking the title in his first season. In 2024, he moved up a category and proved he could mix it with some of the best up-and-coming talents in Rallycross, finishing third in the overall standings after a season of consistently impressive performances. With that experience under his belt, and backed by a well-prepared team, Tamm now faces the next major step in his career as he joins the Euro RX1 field for the first time and given his proven ability to adapt quickly and fight at the front, he could spring a surprise as early as this weekend.

Maiko Tamm

With three highly-rated young drivers stepping into the Euro RX1 spotlight and a brand-new circuit ready to test the entire field, the World RX of Finland has all the ingredients for a breakout weekend. Regardless of whether this weekend becomes a defining breakthrough or simply the start of their climb to the top, Turpeinen, Seppä and Tamm are ready to show exactly why they are being tipped as the stars of tomorrow.
