Andersson: ‘Inspiring’ to have been part of this journey
)
With the final chequered flag having fallen on the 2025 FIA World Rallycross Championship season in Istanbul last month, Klara Andersson has reflected on her pride at the role she has played in ‘breaking down boundaries’ in the sport over the past four years.
Andersson joined the dual-surface discipline’s top-flight as part of the first-ever gender-equal driver line-up with CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment back in 2022. Since then, she has made history by achieving multiple podium finishes, concluding the most recent campaign inside the top four in the overall standings – underlining her rising trajectory.
Despite struggling for speed on Istanbul Park’s demanding, low-grip gravel sections, the Swede ended the opening day of the World RX of Türkiye double-header in third position, crossing the finish line fourth in the final after engaging in a no-holds-barred duel with Kristoffersson Motorsport’s Ole Christian Veiby, but gaining a spot when the Norwegian was subsequently penalised for contact between the pair. She followed that up with a fifth-place finish 24 hours later.

“This season pushed me in every race,” Andersson acknowledged, “but Türkiye proved that hard work pays off and I’m proud of my best result of the year. Justice was served in the stewards’ room on the Saturday evening, and it was super-nice to get a souvenir to take back home.
“The next day was then all about supporting the team and doing everything possible to help Niclas [Grönholm – CE Dealer Team stablemate] to secure the silver medal in the [Drivers’] championship – and we got it done!
“It was a full-on day with some intense battles against the ‘wildcard’ entries, and tyres made it a bit of a challenge but we pushed through. We deployed some strategies that worked out well and I showed decent pace. Unfortunately, I picked up some damage in the semi-final which made the left-hand corners in the final a bit tricky, but fifth place was still ok.”

Having continued to gain in experience and confidence over the course of the year, the 25-year-old Löberöd native is hopeful and optimistic looking forward – not only with regard to her own future in the sport, but also that of other female racers eager to follow in her footsteps.
“My biggest thanks go to all the members of the team for their hard work and support in 2025,” she remarked. “They are like a family to me, and it’s been a pleasure working with them all. I’m extremely proud of what CE Dealer Team and Volvo Construction Equipment have done. They’ve been such a vital partner in breaking down boundaries and pushing for change. It’s been really inspiring to be a part of.”
