Norway’s Petter Solberg continued his heroic weekend at the World RX of Germany, the penultimate round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship by setting the quickest time in Q3. 

Solberg won race five in front of Q1 winner, Sweden’s Mattias Ekstrom, who was second quickest in Q3 and holds onto TQ (top qualifier) spot in the Intermediate Classification, with Q4 to run later this morning. 

Norway’s Andreas Bakkerud overtook Latvia’s Reinis Nitiss in race three and was third quickest, and World RX Champion Johan Kristoffersson was fourth – the highest placed driver using dry tyres on the slippery track. Team Peugeot-Hansen’s Timmy Hansen, Sebastien Loeb and Kevin Hansen where fifth, sixth and seventh in Q3, Loeb and Kevin Hansen overtaking Finland’s Topi Heikkinen in race four. Finland’s Niclas Gronholm won race one and was eighth quickest, Heikkinen was ninth and Latvia’s Janis Baumanis was 10th. Poland’s Martin Kacmarski was unable to start Q3 due to electrical problems.
