Reigning Champion Mattias Ekstrom set the fastest time in Q1 at the World RX of Norway, round six of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, in wet conditions. 

Sweden’s Ekstrom beat home hero Petter Solberg into the first corner of their qualifying race and set the fastest time, Solberg taking his joker on lap three and finishing second to Ekstrom with fourth time in Q1. 

Championship leader Johan Kristoffersson won the second race and was second fastest after passing Janis Baumanis on lap one. Having been fastest in Free Practice, Sebastien Loeb was third in Q1, the Team Peugeot-Hansen driver winning the first race of the day ahead of Norway’s Andreas Bakkerud, who ended up fifth. Kevin Hansen set the sixth fastest time in the same race as Kristoffersson. Latvia’s Reinis Nitiss made the best start in race four and won a battle with Finland’s Niclas Gronholm on lap one to be seventh fastest with Sweden’s Timmy Hansen eighth, Germany’s Timo Scheider ninth and France’s Jean-Baptiste Dubourg tenth. 

In Q1 of the FIA European Rallycross Championship, Hungary’s Tamas Pal Kiss was fastest, Norway’s Tommy Rustad was second and Sweden’s Anton Marklund was third.
