FIA World Rallycross Championship leader Johan Kristoffersson is the early pace setter at Hell RX in Norway this evening, the Swede fastest in Free Practice. 

Driving his PSRX Volkswagen Sweden Polo GTi, Kristoffersson set a best time of 38.914 seconds - 0.232 faster than his team mate Petter Solberg. Team Peugeot-Hansen’s Timmy Hansen was third after completing ten laps, one less than Kristoffersson and Solberg, with Hoonigan Racing Division’s Andreas Bakkerud fourth - 0.003 seconds behind Hansen on the circuit that he won at last season. 

EKS team mates Mattias Ekstrom and Toomas Heikkinen were fifth and sixth quickest, with reigning FIA European Rallycross Champion Kevin Hansen seventh. The Swede completed the equal most laps, 15, with Bakkerud. Russia’s Timur Timerzyanov, France’s Sebastien Loeb and America’s Ken Block rounded out the top 10. Norway’s Thomas Bryntesson was the fastest FIA European Rallycross Championship for Supercar driver in 11th overall despite only completing 5 laps. 

The RX2 International Series and FIA European Rallycross Championship for TouringCar classes had their first qualifying races on Friday afternoon. France’s Cyril Raymond was fastest in RX2 in front of Sweden’s Simon Olofsson. In TouringCar, Championship leader Lars-Oivind Enerberg was fastest.
