Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson was fastest in Q3 this morning at the fourth round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship in Belgium to maintain his position at the top of the Intermediate Classification.

Kristoffersson and Peugeot-Hansen’s Sebastien Loeb passed Petter Solberg on the inside at the first corner of their Q3 race, the top three positions after Q2 remaining the same after Q3, Solberg second and Loeb third. Championship leader Mattias Ekstrom won his race in Q3, set the second fastest time and moves to fourth in the Intermediate Classification. Loeb’s Team Peugeot-Hansen team mate Timmy Hansen finished second to Ekstrom on track and was fifth fastest. He holds the same position in the Intermediate Classification ahead of Q4.

The driver of the third Team Peugeot-Hansen run Peugeot 208 in the field, Kevin Hansen, rolled his car on the final lap of his race in Q3, at the entry to the second loose section. The incident caused heavy damaged to the car which has almost certainly put the reigning European Rallycross Champion out of the event. Russia’s Timur Timerzyaov spun at the first corner of his race and Sweden’s Kevin Eriksson picked up a left rear puncture on his MJP Racing Team Austria Ford Fiesta, but both are inside the semi-final qualifying positions, as is Finland’s Niclas Gronholm.
