Sweden’s Kevin Hansen returns to the scene of his first Supercar victory this weekend at Mettet in Belgium, round four of the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

Hansen won the first round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship in Belgium last season, his first of four 2016 victories, and is now racing as a permanent individual entrant in World RX in a third car run by Team Peugeot-Hansen.

“It’s nice to come back to the place where I won my first European race. It was a small childhood dream of mine to win a Supercar race so it’s nice to come here and remember those feelings. In general I like this track, it suits me quite okay and pre-season testing went well here, so I’m quite excited for this weekend,” said Hansen, who is racing a 2016 specification Peugeot 208 WRX Supercar alongside the 2017 specification cars used by Timmy Hansen and Sebastien Loeb in the team.

“From my point of view all the development goes into the new cars. Throughout the season I expect the gap to all of the new cars to get bigger and it will more tough for me to keep up, but like in Hockenheim I think we can be competitive. Even if it’s the fourth race of the year and many teams have gone forward, it’s a nice feeling to keep up with the new cars. I like this car, it feels a bit like the 2015 car I raced last year and it suits me well, so I don’t see why it shouldn’t be fast.”
