The entry list for the third round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at the legendary Hockenheim Circuit in Germany (5-7 May) has been released by the FIA, where for the third time World RX will join the DTM for the German series’ first event of the year.

The World RX entry list features 22 drivers, including the 18 permanent entrants made up of six two-car teams battling for the Teams’ Championship and the additional six individual entries. Reigning World RX Champion Mattias Ekstrom will once again race in both the DTM and World RX on the same weekend as he did twelve months ago, where he secured victory in the World RX final ahead of EKS team mate Toomas Heikkinen.

Joining the permeant competitors at Hockenheim will be former World RX of Argentina winner Robin Larsson, racing his multiple podium-finishing Audi A1 Supercar that he is contesting the FIA European Rallycross Championship in this year. Germany’s Rene Muennich and Poland’s Martin Kaczmarski will also add to their Euro RX programmes by racing in selected World RX events starting in Portugal this weekend, and will also contest the next World RX event at Hockenheim too, racing their Seat Ibiza and Ford Fiesta Supercars respectively.

France’s Guerlain Chicherit, who is using the 2017 season to prepare for a full-time assault on the FIA World Rallycross Championship with a brand new Renault Megane Supercar next season, raced in the opening round of World RX in Barcelona and will have also competed in the first round of the French Rallycross Championship before returning to World RX at Hockenhiem, driving a Renault Clio Supercar.
