The official entry list for the ninth round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Barcelona in Spain (16-18 September) has been released by the FIA, where World RX event winner Reinis Nitiss will return to Olsbergs MSE to race a Fiesta Supercar at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Nitiss, who announced this week that he will part company with permanent World RX team Muennich Motorsport after this weekend’s eighth round of the championship in France, will return to the team for which he drove in 2014 and 2015, and scored victory in Norway two years ago.

As part of the 22-car field at the famous Formula 1 venue alongside the regular World RX drivers, double DTM Champion Timo Scheider will replace Nitiss in the Muennich Motorsport squad, following his rallycross debut at the same event with the team last season. Sweden’s Kevin Eriksson will also return to World RX action in Barcelona, in his regular OMSE seat. JRM Racing will field two MINI RX Supercars for France’s Guerlain Chicherit and Britain’s Guy Wilks, while Lithuania’s Nerijus Naujokaitis will make his second World RX appearance with the Skoda Fabia he will debut this weekend in Loheac.

The FIA European Rallycross Championship returns to the event line-up in Barcelona for its penultimate round, currently led by Sweden’s Kevin Hansen, who has won each of the three Euro RX rounds so far this season. Denmark’s Ulrik Linnemann leads the FIA European Rallycross Championship for Super1600 line-up heading to Loheac this weekend and will join the 26-strong field in Barcelona, where Italy’s Luciano Visintin will make his second start in a Skoda Fabia.

The RX Lites Cup will also be in action, where Cyril Raymond and Thomas Bryntesson will continue their battle for the points lead and Andorra’s Albert Llovera will race in the closest round to his home.
