FIA World Rallycross Championship driver Reinis Nitiss and German-based team Münnich Motorsport have agreed on the termination of the contract upon which Reinis Nitiss has been competing in a Seat Ibiza RX Supercar in World RX this season. Nitiss had been due to complete the year with the team, but by amicable agreement, the two parties will part company after round eight in France.

"Before the season I knew that developing a new car would be a great challenge. During the season we have made many steps forward and gained a lot of knowledge and experience. Unfortunately, it has not brought us the results that we hoped for, therefore I have decided to put my main focus into the 2017 season. I would like to thank René (Münnich) and the whole Münnich Motorsport team for the cooperation and often selfless work on to move forward with the project," stated young Latvian driver, Reinis Nitiss.

For the remainder of the season, Münnich Motorsport will continue to develop the Ibiza RX Supercars. The vacant seat left by Nitiss will be occupied by other drivers. Meanwhile Nitiss has confirmed his participation in his home round of the championship, the Neste World RX of Latvia, and promises that more information on his future will be published soon.
