Belgium’s Francois Duval will race at the French round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Loheac in a Pailler Competition Peugeot 208 Supercar.

Former world rally winner Duval won the Belgian round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship in 2010, and competed in the opening round of the 2015 Euro RX season at Mettet, where he made the final. The experienced driver also won a round of the French Rallycross Championship at Faleyras recently for the Pailler Euro RX team.

"I am pleased to confirm my presence at Loheac for such a prestigious event, joining the Pailler Competition team that I know well. I won at Faleyras a few weeks ago, so I don’t think it I will be difficult to adjust to the car at Loheac. I also have the advantage of knowing the Loheac track, I drove there in 2011 and it’s not easy to be fast for the whole meeting because the circuit is extremely abrasive on tyres,” explained Duval.

The announcement comes a week after Albatec Racing released the news that World Touring Car driver Yvan Muller will race for the team at the Loheac event. "It is clear that the list of drivers already entered is impressive,” said Duval. “It's always nice to see drivers like Yvan Muller joining the party. However, what I’m looking forward to most is challenging people that I faced in the past, in the World Rally Championship, like Petter Solberg. With 40 Supercars at Loheac, it will be tough to be one of the 12 semi-finalists. However, if I manage four good runs in the qualifying heats, I am more than confident about my chances of making the semi-finals."
