Experienced Swedish team Kristoffersson Motorsport will race in their home event of the FIA World Rallycross Championship next season, and will use brand new VW Polo’s for the assault.

The team will run under the banner of VW Dealer Team Sweden.

Alongside an appearance in the World series at Holjes the team will look to contest other selected World Championship events as they build their experience in preparation for an assault on the full World Championship.

“We will do the Swedish round of the World Championship of course, and more, but we need to see the calendar first,” said team owner Tommy Kristoffersson. “This isn’t a one year project and the plan is to be competing in the World championship full time as soon as possible.”

Kristoffersson’s commitment to rallycross is another indication as to how the sport is progressing. The Swedish team are one of the most professional in the business, it is clear that they will progress but only once they are sure that they can compete on the highest level.

The team ran a pair of VW Scirocco's on their return to the sport this year but will change to the Polo model for 2104.

“The Polo is the best choice from the marketing side, and also from the technical point of view,” said Kristoffersson.

Experienced circuit racer Johan Kristoffersson will lead the development driving of the new car, and will be joined by young Norwegian Ole Christian Veiby, who recently tested Kristoffersson’s VW Sirocco Supercar at Holjes.
