The GCK Renault Clio RS RXs that were used for the GCK Academy team in 2019 were rebranded to be run in the UNKORRUPTED team for 2020, with France’s Guerlain Chicherit and Lithuania’s Rokas Baciuska driving substantially updated versions of the cars.

However, the team struggled to find the performance it needed to regularly make the semi-finals. Development driver Kevin Abbring stepped in for the double-header in Finland to help find performance from the car, but following the Riga-Latvia weekend, the team decided to miss the Catalunya-Barcelona double-header, what would be the final weekend of the season with to the following events being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here’s how Chicherit, Baciuska and Abbring fared head-to-head:

Quickest Qualifying Times:

GC 0 – 0 RB / KA

The best qualifying time of the season for the UNKORRUPTED team was set by Abbring in round four, amid wet conditions in Kouvola-Finland, where in Q2 he was P8 and only just missed out on a starting place in the semi-finals but one place. Baciuska had been P10 in the second qualifier of the season in round one at Holjes-Sweden, his best time of the year on the way to P11 in the Intermediate Classification. Chicherit’s best time of the season also came at Holjes, with P11 in Q1 of round two, and by finishing P13 in the Intermediate Classification he fell just short of the semis.

Semi-final starts:

GC 0 – 1 RB / KA

Baciuska’s semi-final one start at Holjes-Sweden during round one of the season was the team’s only semi appearance, but unfortunately the Lithuanian driver only completed half of the laps before being forced to retire.

GC (17th) 14 points – RB (20th) 12 points – KA (25th) 4 points

Frenchman Chicherit was the highest placed of the UNKORRUPTED drivers, as he raced in all three double-header weekends the team raced at, and ended up two points and three places ahead of Baciuska.
