DiRT CHAMP DALL'OLMO QUALIFIES FOR WORLD RX ESPORTS SERIES

Friday 10th of April 2020

France’s Killian Dall'olmo, the DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series Rallycross Champion, will start the inaugural Catalunya RX Esports Invitational (April 19) as one of three Esports qualifiers to take on FIA World Rallycross Championship regulars and other motorsport stars.

Dall'olmo, 16, won the DiRT world title in January, and has now signed for the SET Esports team run by FIA European Rallycross Championship title-winning SET Promotion, which also operates the GRX Taneco team in the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

Dall'olmo was second fastest in qualification for the Catalunya RX Esports Invitational session from over 8,500 drivers. “It’s fantastic to sign for SET Esports, it’s a team with a big name that is now recognised worldwide for what it achieved last year. This is where I want to be, and I start with the team entering a really exciting event to try and do the best I can. I only started Esports last year when qualifying for the Dirt Rally 2.0 World Series,” he said.

“I didn’t realise it so much at the time, but to be crowned as the best rallycross player in the world in the World Series was amazing, but I'm already focusing on this year and I'm not thinking about my title. I’m excited to race in the World RX Invitational. We all dream of being able to go as far as possible, but to race against these really big names from World RX is really cool and I’m looking forward to the event starting.”

Jussi Pinomaki SET Esports Team Principal, who is also Team Manager for GRX Taneco in World RX said: “That Killian wanted to sign for SET Esports for this year is a pleasure for us, because it shows the impression we made in only our first year in Esports last season.

"He’s clearly very talented and we look forward to working with him more and more as time develops. The initiative by World RX to host the RX Invitational series together with Codemasters and Motorsport Games is very good for fans in this very difficult time not only for the sport, but the whole world, and it’s great that Killian has qualified to take part against some well-established motorsport figures. I think he could spring a surprise.”
