Denmark’s Tobias Daarbak will step up to Supercar this season in the FIA European Rallycross Championship, where he will race a Ford Fiesta.

The 18-year-old will drive a newly purchased ex-Michael De Keersmaecker Ford Fiesta for the five round Euro RX season, after making his FIA European Championship debut in 2018 in the TouringCar category.

Prior to 2018, the Dane claimed seven Danish Crosskart titles and, having raced in the Danish series and in Euro RX with a rear-wheel-drive TouringCar, will now race in Supercar from the first Euro RX round of the season at Spa-Francorchamps.

“I feel very lucky and honored to get this opportunity to compete in Euro RX Supercar. I´m extremely grateful to those who have helped me here and believe in me. For me it´s a dream come true. I´m very excited for all the events this season," he said.

"In 2018 I drove at Holjes and Hell and both tracks were amazing. The three other circuits are all new for me so they will be a major challenge that I look forward to. I´m probably quite an underdog but my ambitions are high and I look forward to learn and grab my chances. 2020 will be an exciting learning year with a very hard field of many good competitors and cars.

Daarbak has already tested the Ford Fiesta Supercar, which is receiving updates before the season gets underway, where the young driver is looking forward to representing his nation.

“I hope my Supercar and I will become friends very quickly. I have done a little test and the car seems very good, and fast too. Right now we are working on some updates for the car. The performance is then up to me and I hope I can keep up with my competitors. To represent Denmark in Euro RX in the top class Supercar is amazing. I hope I can do well for the Danish colours and Danish fans.”
