Seven-time FIA World Rallycross Championship event winner Andreas Bakkerud starred in the penultimate weekend of the Trophee Andros Ice Racing Championship at Lans En Vercors on Friday and Saturday with a pair of podiums, his first in the series.

Driving for the Sainteloc Racing team in an fully-electric Audi A1, Norway’s Bakkerud took P3 on day one before being fastest in Q1 on day two and ended up P2 in the final results. The scores moved Bakkerud up to P6 in the championship.

“Finally - my first podiums in Trophee Andros. Every motorsport category requires something different from you as a driver, and I think I’ve learned the game of Trophee Andros with the help of my great team Sainteloc Racing. It’s also the techniques I’ll bring with me to the FIA World Rallycross Championship when needed,” said Bakkerud, who finished runner-up to Timmy Hansen in the 2019 World RX Drivers’ Championship .

France’s Jean-Baptise Dubourg, the four time Trophee Andros Champion, finished P2 in the FIA European Rallycross Championship for Supercar in 2019 with the DA Racing team. He dropped to second in the Trophee Andros points with P5 and P7 in the two rounds at Lans En Vercors.
