FANTASY RX TO BE DECIDED IN CAPE TOWN

Saturday 9th of November 2019

The final round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship takes place at the SABAT World RX of South Africa this weekend, which means it’s also the 10th and final round of the 2019 Fantasy RX season.

In round nine at Latvia RX, it was a joint victory for Monster block and WRX FRA 2019 with 1432 points, as no less than six players finished second (K Motorsport #53, Wikingpower, @adamwalker36, Foxy Motorsport, Michael Delaney and rockandre) just 23 points away from victory.

None of the Fantasy RX title contenders had a brilliant weekend at Latvia RX, but by finishing 35th, RX69 moved up to second in the standings. But, even with a 66th place finish in the penultimate round, Tom61 is at the head of the standings by 193 points. However, while the Great Britain competitor has been in the hunt for the title for most of the season, the championship is by no mean secure. Cape Town RX will be critical

Mesquita Portugal RX Team is third in the standings, 22 points behind RX69, with BanksyRX currently 78 points off an overall podium for the season. Adam's Racers and Invalidos in P4 and P5 will also have eyes on an overall top three for the season.

The highest points’ scoring driver in the penultimate round in Latvia was Team Hansen MJP’s Timmy Hansen, even though he didn’t score any Fantasy RX points in Q2. Monster Energy RX Cartel’s Andreas Bakkerud took P2 and GRX Taneco’s Niclas Gronholm took P3.

Its’ the title real-world World RX title contenders, Timmy and Kevin Hansen and Andreas Bakkerud that are in Pool A for Cape Town RX, joined by Niclas Gronholm. Picking the correct driver could be critical in the outcome of the Fantasy RX standings. It’s just as complicated in each of the four pools, but the hot tip is in Pool D, with GCK Academy’s Cyril Raymond the highest points scorer of those drivers in Latvia.

Don’t forget to enter before midnight on Friday, and before answering the bonus questions, have a look back over results from this year to try and work out how many drivers will set a fastest time in qualifying.

Good Luck!
