Finland’s Toomas ‘Topi’ Heikkinen took first blood at the Bretagne World RX of France on his return to the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Loheac with the quickest time in Q1.

GRX Taneco’s Heikkinen took the hole shot in Q1 race 3 and set the quickest time on his debut in the Hyundai i20 Supercar. Sweden’s Timmy Hansen started in P4 of race 5 but moved into P2 at turn one then overtook the race leader – Finland’s Niclas Gronholm – at the end of lap one.

Team Hansen MJP’s Peugeot 208 driver Hansen went P2 in the session with Germany’s Timo Scheider P3, the ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport driver making a turn one move into the lead in race 4, in front of Team STARD’s Janis Baumanis. GRX’s Timur Timerzyanov won Q1 race 2 to be P4, with GC Kompetition’s Rokas Baciuska taking an early joker in race three with the Renault Megane RS RX. Gronholm completed the top six.

Championship rivals, Norway’s Andreas Bakkerud and Sweden’s Kevin Hansen were P9 and P10. Both drivers lost out at turn 1 then had to fight in the traffic. Bakkerud passed GCK’s Anton Marklund in the last corner of race 4 after the joker merge. French drivers Fabien Pailler and Cyril Raymond were inside the top 12, in P11 and P12.

Sweden’s Robin Larsson took the fastest time in Q1 of Euro RX Supercar, Switzerland’s Yuri Belevskiy was quickest in Q1 and Q2 of Super1600 and Sweden’s Oliver Eriksson was top in Q1 of the RX2 International Series.
