ESmotorsport – LabasGas will not race with its Skoda Fabia WRX in the World RX of Canada this weekend, round seven of the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

In a statement released today, team manager Robertas Maneikis said:

“ESmotorsport – LabasGas would like to announce its absence from the FIA World Rallycross Championship in Canada. It was not an easy decision made by our team, partners and sponsors. We believe that we have shown great potential as a private team in its FIA World Rallycross Championship debut season and what we can achieve with our Skoda WRX supercar accompanied by a capable driver behind the wheel. We are immensely motivated after the results in Norway and Sweden with our driver Kevin Abbring. We have learned a lot and established a lot of points where we can additionally improve upon.

Due to scheduling conflict Kevin Abbring was not able to attend Canada event, as agreed from the start he would be able only to manage Norway, Sweden and South Africa.\

From now our team will take a short pause from the races. We will continue our car testing and development based on feedback that we have received from the drivers this season.

I would like to sincerely apologise on behalf of ESmotorsport – LabasGas to our Fans, FIA and IMG about our decision and the difficulties caused. To the organisers of Canada event and the stewards, and to our dearest partners and sponsors.

As we are saddened by missing this great event, we are as excited to announce electrifying news later this season.”
