The first of six rounds for the FIA European Rallycross Championship for Supercar takes place this weekend at Silverstone, with a grid made up of former race winners, returning champions and rising stars.

At the head of the entry list is Sweden’s driver Robin Larsson, the 2014 Euro RX Champion returning to the series after several years in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. He will drive the Audi S1 that Mattias Ekstrom won the World RX title with in 2016, and raced two weeks ago in Spa. Larsson competed in the car for the first time in RallyX Nordic last weekend and finished on the podium. Making a three car team, joining World RX permanent entry Timo Scheider for ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport will be joined by experienced circuit racing and rallycross driver Rene Muennuch, accompanied in another Seat Ibiza by partner Mandie August.

WRC2 Champion Pontus Tidemand will start the first Euro RX round this weekend in an Eklund Motorsport Volkswagen Beetle, and two-time Euro RX TouringCar Champion Derek Tohill will race his Ford Fiesta. Tohill currently leads the British Rallycross Championship after two rounds and finished second at Silverstone in March. Finland’s Mikko Ikonen will race in a full season of Euro RX in the ex-Ken Block Ford Fiesta that Latvian Reinis Nitiss used to claim the Euro RX title last season. Another driver who raced in the first round of British RX, Mike Manning, will compete in his first Euro RX campaign this year with a Ford Fiesta, and former Swedish Rallycross Champion Peter Hedstrom and team mate Daniel Thoren head a number of Volkswagen Polos in the field. Former Euro RX race winner (at Loheac in 2017) and RallyX Nordic Champion Thomas Bryntesson has switched from a Ford Fiesta to an ex-Marklund Motorsport Volkswagen Polo for the 2019 season. He revealed his striking brand new livery yesterday and is targeting nothing less than the title, as RX2 International Series race winner Sondre Evjen, from Norway, will race a Polo run in a collaboration between Kristoffersson Motorsport and Eklund Motorsport. Autocross specialist Ales Fucik has switched from a Skoda Fabia to a Volkswagen Polo for this year.

Former World RX podium finisher and four time Andros Trophy Champion Jean-Baptiste Dubourg will form a two car line-up with younger brother Andreas in a pair of Peugeot 208s for the DA Racing team. Frenchman Rodolphe Audran will also race a Peugeot 208 at Silverstone this weekend and Hungarian Tamas Karai will return with an Audi A1.

The Euro RX Supercar Championship will be run over six rounds this season, starting in the UK and joining World RX events in Norway (Hell), Sweden (Holjes), France (Loheac) and Latvia (Riga), while also having a standalone event at the Estering in Germany, in August.
