Sweden’s Robin Larsson will fight for his second FIA European Rallycross Championship Supercar title in 2019 driving for the JC Raceteknik team.

Larsson has signed to race a 2017 specification EKS Audi S1 Supercar in the six round Euro RX season. He won the Championship in 2014 driving a similar Audi for his own team before moving to the FIA World Rallycross Championship. Last year he drove a Ford Fiesta for the Olsbergs MSE team but had a difficult season and is looking forward to fighting at the front in Euro RX, which for 2019 will feature Live Streaming from every round.

“It will be really fun to race for JC Raceteknik this year. I have had some hard years racing in the World Championship which made me lose a bit of enthusiasm and joy for rallycross. This year I’m aiming to get the spark back. The goal is to fight for victory in both Euro RX and RallyX Nordic, I think we have the capacity to do that despite tough opposition,” said Larsson. “Joel (Christoffersson, team principal) is an old friend so competing in his team, a little more at home, is of course special. JC Raceteknik is a good team with skilled mechanics and competitive cars.”

JC Raceteknik previously ran Norway’s Ola Froshaug and Thomas Bryntesson in Euro RX. Bryntesson won the French round at Loheac in 2017. “It will be an exciting year for JC Raceteknik with both new Supercars and two strong drivers,” explained Joel Christoffersson. “We had some setbacks last year, so now the whole team is really pumped for a strong season. Robin is completely new to the team, even though he is a well-known face in the paddock. We look forward working with him and we will definitely fight for top results Euro RX.”

Larsson will also be joined in the team for RallyX Nordic events by Mats Ohman, who races using hand controls.
