Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson won race four of Q4 at the World RX of Latvia to take TQ (top qualifier) in the Intermediate Classification in round nine of the FIA World Rallycross Championship.

In Euro RX, fourth quickest time in Q4 was enough for Latvia’s Reinis Nitiss to qualify for the semi-finals and win the 2018 FIA European Rallycross Championship for Supercar.

PSRX Volkswagen Sweden’s Kristoffersson won World RX Q4 race four from the front to set the quickest time in front of Team Peugeot Total’s Sebastien Loeb, who climbed up to second in the Intermediate Classification. Peugeot’s Kevin Hansen, PSRX’s Petter Solberg and GC Kompetition’s Liam Doran also won their Q4 races to all make their way through to the semi-finals this afternoon, two-time World RX Driver’ Champion Solberg overtaking EKS’ Andreas Bakkerud to win race two.

Kristoffersson takes 16 Championship points with TQ and will start on pole position in semi-final one, next to EKS’ Mattias Ekstrom. The 2016 World RX Champion remained third in the Intermediate Classification despite a slow start in Q4 race four. Solberg and GRX Taneco’s Niclas Gronholm will start on row two of semi-final one and GC Kompetition’s Guerlain Chicherit and GRX’s Timur Timerzyanov will complete the grid.

In semi-final two, all three Team Peugeot Total drivers will start, with Loeb and Sweden’s Timmy Hansen on row one. EKS’ Bakkerud and wildcard driver Nico Muller will take row two and Kevin Hansen will share row three with GCK’s Doran. Fighting back from a challenging day one, Kevin Hansen and Doran making the semis put Germany’s Timo Scheider and Latvia’s Janis Baumanis out of the top 12.

Norway’s Thomas Bryntesson was quickest in Euro RX Supercar in Q4.
