Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson claimed first blood in the World RX of France, round eight of the FIA World Rallycross Championship at Loheac by setting the quickest time in Q1.

PSRX Volkswagen Sweden’s Kristoffersson overtook a fast-starting Liam Doran on lap one of race four and won to take the best time ahead of EKS Audi Sport’s Andreas Bakkerud, who won race five and Norway’s Petter Solberg, the two-time World RX Champion pushing Bakkerud hard to the finish line.

Team Peugeot Total’s Sebastien Loeb battled for the lead in the last race of the session with Bakkerud and Solberg and finished fourth overall just a tenth quicker than team mate Timmy Hansen, who won Q1 race one.

EKS Audi Sport’s Mattias Ekstrom passed GRX Taneco’s Niclas Gronholm after the Finn made a fast start to lead race three and was sixth with Peugeot’s Kevin Hansen seventh and Doran, making his debut for GC Kompetition in eighth. Gronholm, Team STARD’s Janis Baumanis, GRX’s Timur Timerzyanov and MJP Racing Team Austria’s Andrew Jordan completed the top 12 in the first session of the weekend.

In Q1 for the FIA European Rallycross Championship for Supercar, two-time Euro RX Super1600 champion Krisztian Szabo set the quickest time on his international Supercar debut, ahead of championship rivals Reinis Nitiss and Anton Marklund.
