The ‘British Bomb’ Liam Doran will return to the FIA World Rallycross Championship for round eight at Loheac in France next week, driving for GC Kompetition.

Doran will line up for GCK alongside France’s Guerlain Chicherit in the Renault Megane RS RX Supercars, replacing Jerome Grosset-Janin who won’t continue to race for the team. Four-time X Games medallist Doran is a driver steeped in rallycross history. He has raced rallycross Supercars for over ten years in a range of Championships around the world and won multiple rounds of the FIA European Rallycross Championship. He has previously raced a Citroen DS3 Supercar run by his LD Motorsports team in World RX, and for the JRM World RX Team in 2016.

Doran will make his first start of 2018 in front of the huge French crowd at Loheac this weekend, racing the Prodrive built Megane. “I’m excited to be back racing WRX and with GCK. This is a great opportunity and I really cannot express how happy I am to get back behind the wheel. I am confident in the car and Lohéac is one of my favourite tracks, so hopefully we can put together a good result,” said Doran.

GC Kompetition team manager, Karl O’Sullivan, added: “To be able to secure a
driver of such experience and tenacity as Liam to join Guerlain in Lohéac will be hugely beneficial for the entire team. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming Liam to the team and excited to have both drivers test together over the next couple of days. Lohéac RX as the team’s home race is hugely important to us and we want to ensure we are able to offer our fans the best experience and some incredible racing for their entertainment.”
