Norway’s Petter Solberg ended his PSRX Volkswagen Sweden team mate Johan Kristoffersson’s record breaking run of qualifying wins by setting the quickest time in Q3 this morning at the World RX of Sweden in Holjes.

Double World RX Drivers’ Champion Solberg claimed the hole-shot in the run to the first corner and set the quickest time by winning the race. Kristoffersson took his joker on lap three but lost second position to a flying Timmy Hansen, who was second quickest in front of Kristoffersson. Norway’s Andreas Bakkerud and Sweden’s Mattias Ekstrom completed the race four finishing positions and in the overall Q3 classification.

Solberg’s time moved him to second in the intermediate Classification behind Kristoffersson. Team Peugeot Total’s Timmy Hansen and Sebastien Loeb had mixed fortunes - Hansen was third quickest and is still third in the Intermediate Classification, but Loeb dropped to ninth with 17th time in Q3 when he broke his 208 WRX’s left-rear suspension after side-by-side contact with GRX Taneco’s Timur Timerzyanov in the first corner. Timerzyanov was sixth quickest.

Team STARD’s Janis Baumanis followed Timerzyanov in Q3 race three and was seventh in front of Team Peugeot Total’s Kevin Hansen in eighth, the two drivers holding the same positions in the Intermediate Classification ahead of Q4 later this morning.

OlsbergsMSE’s Robin Larsson and Kevin Eriksson finished one-two in Q3 race two and both remain inside the semi-final qualifying positions ahead of Q4, with GRX’s Niclas Gronholm 13th, the Finnish driver battling back from a pair of punctures on Saturday.
